“Don’t Look Up” evening debate

As part of a three-month focus on the environment and sustainable development led by the Monaco Multimedia Library, the Mission for Energy Transition has put together an evening debate on the issues raised by the successful film "Don’t Look Up".*

What is holding back a more rapid and coordinated response to the climate emergency? What solutions will help us to move faster, together?

The debate will be held at the Louis Notari Library on Tuesday 10 May 2022, at 6.30 p.m. Entry is free but bookings for the 50 available spaces are required (93.15.29.40) and masks must be worn.

Five personalities from the Principality, representing a range of backgrounds and fields of expertise, will take part in the debate led by Annabelle Jaeger-Seydoux, Director of the Mission for Energy Transition:

-    Dr Nathalie Hilmi, Lead Researcher for Environmental Economics at the Monaco Scientific Centre. Nathalie Hilmi has a doctorate in economic sciences and specialises in macroeconomics and international finance.

-    Joana Foglia Berrebi, an expert in “blue” sustainable finance and Editor of Wealth Monaco magazine. Through the magazine, Joana Foglia challenges private and institutional investors and management companies to consider sustainability issues.

-    Délia Kriel, journalist at La Gazette de Monaco with an interest in environmental issues. Délia Kriel and La Gazette de Monaco are both signatories of the National Pact, the latter being the only media organisation to have signed up so far.

-    Olivier Wenden, Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Prince Albert II Foundation. The Prince Albert II Foundation acts on the international stage and aims to bring together scientists, politicians, businesses and civil society organisations to help protect the ocean and the land.

-    Sébastien Uscher, founder and President of the Stand Up For The Planet association, and a committed and inspiring citizen. Head of the “sustainable development” project at Décathlon France, he is anticipating “an environmental awakening” from civil society.

We look forward to seeing lots of you at the evening debate.
